Using The WiPSO Survey and Website
Wisconsin Post School Outcomes Survey and Website
The Wisconsin Post School Outcomes (WiPSO) Survey is a web-based process that provides a framework that both the State Educational Agency (SEA) and Local Education Agencies (LEA) can utilize to collect and analyze the outcomes of exiters, and to identify areas of strength and weakness in preparing students for adult life.
Once within a five-year cycle, districts are required to collect student contact information and mail their former district students a letter introducing the survey. For those districts involved in DPI Compliance Monitoring, St. Norbert College Strategic Research Institute (SRI) contacts former district students for a telephone interview approximately one year after the student has exited their secondary educational placement thorough graduation, certificate of attendance (including HSED), reaching maximum age of eligibility (age 21 years), or by dropping-out (including GED). Beginning with the 2013-14 school year, districts will determine if they would like SRI to call their former students on behalf of the district, or if they would like to participate in interviewer training and conduct their own exiter survey, using the WiPSO website on-line data collection. Districts are encouraged to use the WiPSO website any year, including non-monitoring years.
This outcomes website was designed to assist both those Wisconsin districts required to collect outcomes data, and those districts who want to collect outcomes data. If a district elects to use the outcomes website in a non-compliance monitoring year, no outcomes data is made public.
